“The Gradual Release Model of Writing”

Dr. Berlinghoff will provide understanding of the Gradual Release Model for teaching writing.  This powerful method of engaging struggling and disenfranchised students will be presented, along with specific suggestions for teaching all students in the classroom. The model will provide many suggestions for implementation in classrooms across the curriculum.

The presentation is suitable for teachers of all grades and all kinds of classrooms in which students need to write. 

Dee Berlinghoff will return to the MHRC to share more of the strategies learned during her post-doctoral work at the University of Kansas.  Dr. Berlinghoff has been both participant and presenter during the summer institutes at the University of Kansas.
